Welcome To Hotel Estancia Olmeca in Santiago Tuxtla, Veracruz, Mexico
|
|
Santiago Tuxtla is a fantastic base for exploring the southern Golf coast of Mexico. The region of "Los Tuxtlas" is origin of the Olmec civilisation, which is the mother culture of all other civilisations in Mexico (Maya, Toltec, Aztec, etc.). The Olmecs were great mathematicians (they knew the Zero long before the Europeans) and sophisticated astronomers whose calendar was more precise than the Gregorian calendar. Their trademark are colossal heads - the biggest of these unique sculptures was found in Tres Zapotes, close to Santiago Tuxtla and can now be admired in the central park of Santiago, only five minutes on foot from the Hotel Estancia Olmeca. ![]() The comfortable Hotel Estancia Olmeca, located in the ecological paradise of the Tuxtlas. |
